I watched The High Cost of Living last night with Zach Braff and the beautiful Isabelle Blais. When the movie ended, I felt pretty unsatisfied with the entire thing. You know that typical feeling you get when a movie doesn’t have that black-and-white, happy ending that you’re not necessarily expecting, but hoping for nonetheless? But then I thought about the movie for a bit and realized that it couldn’t have had a happy ending. But it had moments of greatness. Parts of it were painful to watch unfold, but the whole film was so very human. It showed the highs and the lows of life in one simple scenario connecting two different people’s lives. It’s on Netflix instant play; go watch.
